Astronomical telescope composition with pierced column on Basix bench

The astronomical telescope, or 'Keplerian telescope', allows for increasing the apparent size and brightness of celestial objects during their observation.

It is made up of a combination of two converging lenses, with the objective lens having a long focal length compared to the eyepiece. As it is an afocal system, the image focus of the objective lens is coincident with the image focus of the eyepiece.

This design includes column-mounted carriers with perforations to fix the spacing of each optical system (object at infinity, astronomical telescope, and imaginary eye).
