Viewfinder telescope

The Viewfinder telescope is an optical instrument composed mainly of an objective lens and an eyepiece. It allows the observation of a very distant object while obtaining a sharp image without the eye needing to accommodate. It is used to aim at or observe distant objects with precision by aligning the image of the object with a reticle (crosshair).

It is the typical instrument used to aim at an object “ at infinity ” on an optical bench.
