Went's Pea Test Kit: auxin action
Objective: demonstrate the stimulating properties of auxin through a biological assay method.
Principle: two halves of a young pea stem split in water bend outward. In the presence of auxin, they bend towards each other.
The experiment involves measuring the angle of curvature, based on increasing concentrations of auxin.
The kit provides ready-to-dilute buffer and auxin.
7 Petri dishes are required per workstation.
Format: 12 tests
Duration of the experiment: two sessions of 50 min
Shelf life: 6 months
Storage condition: + 4°C
The kit consists of: - 1 packet of pea seeds - 1 dose of auxin for 400 mL - 1 dose of buffer solution
