It lists the different forms of visual impairments and develops the principles of colorimetry. It analyzes the optical properties of colored surfaces. The different sources of lighting commonly used are detailed in their physical principles and implementations. Standard illuminants are presented as well as reference observers. Finally, the work specifies the methodologies for carrying out colorimetric measurements in various sectors of activity. Colorimeters of various types are presented and their operating principles are explained. Specific appendices allow for the appropriation of additional concepts for a deeper understanding of the main content.
