Intrachromosomal recombination on Chr III.
Mutations studied: vestigial wings and black body.

Presentation:
The drosophila inclusions on slides, arranged in an elegant storage box, include:
- 1 Parents slide: P1 wild-type homozygotes, P2 mutant homozygotes.
- 1 Direct F1 slide (P1 x P2): 100% long wings and light body.
- 6 F2 slides obtained in back cross: (F1 x mutant P2): 41.5% wild-type phenotype, 41.5% mutant phenotype, 8.5% long wings and black body, 8.5% vestigial wings and light body.

Objectives:
Observe under a binocular microscope a population of 300 individuals, sorted (but not counted!), develop models, study chromosome segregation, gene distribution. Based on these results, define the type of hereditary law to which the studied strain conforms.

This cross is also available in individual Petri dishes, Parents (575275), F1 (575276), Direct F2 (575277), Back cross (575278)!

Caractéristiques techniques
Mutations studied: Vestigial wings and black body. 1 Parents blade: Wild homozygotes P1 long wings and clear body, mutated homozygotes P2 vestigial wings and black body. 1 blade F1 (P1 x P2): Phenotype long wings and clear body (wild). 6 F2 test slides obtained in back cross: (female F1 x male P2, mutated parental strain): We observe approximately 41.5% wild-type phenotype, 41.5% mutated phenotype, 8.5% new phenotype associating long wing and black body , 8.5% new phenotype associating vestigial wing and clear body. Reflection: Explanation of the link between parental genes and their rate of back cross recombination depending on their distance on the chromosome.
