- Delay of a wave
- Production and analysis of polarized light
- Liquid crystal display

Principles and objectives:
The acronym LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display and refers to a liquid crystal display.
It is easy to act on the structure of liquid crystals, in particular by applying an electric field. The alignment of the liquid crystal molecules is then constrained, which has the effect of modifying the optical properties of the latter, in particular its polarization. The operating principle is simple, in the absence of an electric field the molecules orient themselves naturally (twist effect) and the substance will be perfectly transparent. On the other hand, the action of an electric field creates a modification of the environment and the substance darkens.
