SP2 powder medium for 1000 mL - Rooting

Dosage for the preparation of 1000 mL of SP2 culture medium.

Objective: 
Implement a protocol to achieve the development of a whole plant from a leaf fragment of Saintpaulia. It is necessary to work with 2 media successively, the multiplication medium (SP1) and then the rooting medium (SP2).

Why choose Saintpaulia?
This indoor plant, available in gardening stores, is easy to maintain. It allows for easily obtaining disinfected fragments, unlike the potato which requires the prior production of sprouts. It is also simpler to cultivate in vitro than carrot tissues. It is not necessary to obtain a sterile callus beforehand.
