The reproduction mode of the blob resembles that of mushrooms, but its way of feeding and moving is more similar to the animal kingdom. This giant cell, which can reach 10 m² in the laboratory, is intriguing. It has several nuclei and is devoid of a nervous system. Yet, it exhibits astonishing learning characteristics that can be replicated in the classroom. Delivered in dehydrated form (sclerotia), with its reactivation medium. We offer 2 strains of different origins: - The identical American strain is the one used by Thomas Pesquet for space experiments. - The Australian strain to complement the study with a comparative approach. This kit is ideal for studying the impact of temperature change on the development of the Blob as suggested by the CNRS participatory science experiment "Behind the Blob, the Research"! Add the 75W infrared bulb (283971), the infrared lamp (566037), the thermometer (290129), and Petri dishes (714198). Format: Variable depending on the transplanting of sclerotia Experiment duration: Several sessions (monitoring the development of the Blob) Shelf life: 6 months (or more if the sclerotia are transplanted) Storage conditions: Room temperature, dry

The kit consists of:
- 10 sclerotia (2 sachets)
- 1 bottle of ready-to-pour agar culture medium (200 ml)
- Sterile oat flakes (50g)
