Spectrophotomètres
Un spectrophotomètre permet de déterminer la concentration d'une espèce chimique dans une solution. Pour se faire, l'appareil mesure l'intensité de la lumière (I) qui passe à travers un échantillon. Cette intensité est ensuite comparée à l'intensité de lumière (Iₒ) passant à travers un échantillon de référence (contenant le même solvant et cuve que l'échantillon testé). Ainsi en utilisant la loi de Beer-Lambert, on peut remonter à la concentration de l'espèce chimique désirée, dans l'échantillon testé.
