Observing - Characteristics and properties of waves. Periodic progressive waves, sinusoidal waves.
Defining for a sinusoidal progressive wave, the period, frequency, and wavelength.
Performing spectral analysis of a musical sound to characterize its pitch and timbre.

11th grade: Specialty

10th grade: MPS Sciences and artwork
Musical arts
Nature and analysis of sounds.
Musical instruments (scales, harmony...)
Recording of sound documents (encoding, sampling)

Introduction:
Musical instruments produce complex sounds that are perceived by the human ear. By analogy with these instruments, the student configures the Spectrason and listens with a speaker to the complex output sound produced. In 3 steps, they will understand how to characterize a musical sound by its pitch and timbre.
