Spectrophotometers infrared

An infrared spectrophotometer, or IR spectrophotometer, is an instrument used to measure the absorbance of a solution in the infrared region.

The radiation emitted by the device excites the chemical bonds present in the sample being analyzed.

The resulting bond deformations and elongations are then detected by the spectrophotometer.

After analyzing these vibrational signals, the instrument can identify and display the different chemical functional groups present in the sample.
