A desiccator is a laboratory device used to remove moisture from samples and to measure a sample’s moisture content.
Its main function is to dry the sample using a desiccating agent such as silica gel. Thanks to the fully airtight lid, moisture cannot enter the chamber, creating ideal conditions for effective drying.
Some desiccators, also known as moisture analyzers, can additionally measure the sample’s moisture content. The weight difference between the wet and dry sample is measured by the device.
