This kit, whose composition has been validated with the help of Math-Science teachers in Vocational Education, is dedicated to the Mechanics theme of math-science programs in Vocational High Schools, and allows for addressing the following program lines.
10th grade:
- Experimentally determine an average speed in the case of rectilinear motion.
- Experimentally verify the equilibrium conditions of a solid subjected to two or three concurrent straight-line forces.
11th and 12th grade:
- Measure speeds and accelerations in the case of rectilinear motion.
- Experimentally study the effect of a force on the rotation of a simple object around a fixed axis.
- Experimentally study the equilibrium conditions of a solid in rotation around a fixed axis subjected to a maximum of three forces.
- Experimentally determine the center of gravity of a solid subjected to its weight from its equilibrium positions in rotation around different axes.
- Experimentally study the tilting of a solid placed on a plane.
- Measure the pressure at a point in a fluid.
- Experimentally determine, using a suitable sensor, the pressure variations within a fluid at equilibrium.
- Experimentally verify Boyle's Law.
- Experimentally illustrate the operating principle of a press or a hydraulic cylinder.
- Exploit Pascal's principle.
- Experimentally determine the value of Archimedes' force.
- Experimentally determine the parameters influencing the value of Archimedes' force (fluid density, immersed volume).
- Exploit Pascal's principle.
