Passive Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser
This option of the Nd:YAG Laser Lab (ref. 204820) allows for understanding pulse generation. Topic covered: - Generation of short pulses by passive Q-switch system (saturable absorber Cr4+ : YAG) - Characterization of pulse generation: threshold, pulse shape, duration, and energy A Cr:YAG crystal acts as a saturable absorber in the resonator. A needle-shaped pulse train is observed. The pulse frequency is influenced by the pump power and cavity alignment. When oscillating at higher transverse modes, two or more pulse trains appear. In combination with 204821, intra and extra-cavity SHG can be demonstrated.
Composition:
â–ª Saturable absorbent crystal (Cr4+ : YAG) and 5-axis adjustable support, neutral density filter
