Representative of the genus Paranthropus, this skull, completed with a mandible, has a small cranial volume (500 cm3). The face is flat with significant sub-orbital ridges. There is a crest (in males) indicating powerful chewing, comparable to that of male gorillas.
Discovered in Kenya (1970).
Dating: 1,700,000 years ago.
