Skull of the Neanderthal group, characterized by a long and elongated shape towards the back. It has a cranial volume greater than 1500 cm3. It features a receding forehead, a very pronounced sub-orbital torus, a wide and thick dentition, a strong prognathism, and a lack of chin.
Discovered in La Chapelle-aux-Saints, France (1908).
Dating: 35,000 to 50,000 years ago.
