LAN Testeur

A LAN tester, commonly known as an RJ45 tester or network tester, measures the performance of an Ethernet cable. Its operation is simple: it checks the conductor between the two ends of a cable. The LAN tester is therefore ideal for technical service professionals and LAN network administrators. It allows many tests to be carried out easily, such as determining IP directions, identifying polarity, performing dual-load measurements, and detecting a specific cable.

The Ping test is a common measurement performed by professionals on network cables. With a LAN tester, you can determine uptime and loss rate using a digital test signal. The time between sending and receiving a data packet is measured, enabling a quick audit of the connection. Additional, more advanced measurements can also be analysed with the appropriate device, such as PoE (Power over Ethernet) testing or TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry).

 

Most devices can connect to network cables via a BNC connector with coaxial cables or via an Ethernet jack (RJ45 plug).
