Monohybridism.
Mutations studied: vestigial wings.
Presentation:
The drosophila specimens on slides, arranged in an elegant storage box, include:
- 1 slide Parents: P1 wild-type homozygote (normal wings), P2 mutant homozygote (vestigial wings).
- 1 slide F1 (P1 x P2):
100% wild-type phenotype.
- 6 slides F2 Back cross (F1 x mutant P2): 50% normal wings, 50% vestigial wings.
Reflection on the concepts of homozygote and heterozygote.

Caractéristiques techniques
Mutation studied: Vestigial wings.
1 Parents slide: Wild homozygotes, mutated homozygotes.
1 F1 blade (P1 x P2): Long wings phenotype (wild) hence the notion of dominance.
6 F2 test slides (F1 x P2): We observe approximately 50% long wings, 50% vestigial wings.
Reflection: Heterozygous nature of the long wings phenotype, homozygous nature of the vestigial wings phenotype.
