Experimental setup to measure the mutagenic power of ultraviolet rays on the genome of living cells. **Presentation:** Each group of students has 5 Petri dishes to monitor the growth of Ade2 yeast. 4 dishes will be exposed to different and increasing levels of UV exposure, with the 5th being the control. Results are visible after 5 days. **Expected results:** The effect of UV on the DNA of *S. cerevisiae* Ade2 is observable at 2 levels: at the phenotype level (non-lethal mutations), with the color of the colonies turning back to cream instead of red, and at the level of lethal mutations, quantifiable by monitoring the mortality rate of colonies / control. **Ordering information:** Order 2 weeks before the desired reception date.
