The pre-dosed breakable ampoule aroma synthesis kits were designed taking into account the constraints existing during whole-class manipulation:
- sulfuric acid has been replaced by another less hazardous catalyst,
- the concentration of acetic acid (necessary for some aromas) has been reduced to mitigate the odor in the classroom,
In addition, the syntheses require few additional materials and have a sufficient yield to obtain a few milliliters of aromas for their characterization.
For the release and neutralization, associated consumables are offered in water-soluble sachets. Saturated solutions in salt and bicarbonate can thus be quickly prepared during the downtime associated with reflux heating.
Composition of a set for 10 manipulations: - 10 vials of 5 mL of acid - 10 vials of 5 mL of alcohol - 10 vials of 1.5 mL of catalyst - 10 soluble packets of sodium chloride - 10 soluble packets of hydrogen carbonate
