Opacity card - BYK-GARDNER

The test card selection is based on film technology:
Depending on the type of solvent used in the paint formula, an application card must be more or less resistant to the solvent. The type of resin requires different types of solvents, and depending on the polarity of the solvent, organic ingredients will be more or less activated. Therefore, BYK-Gardner offers two ranges of application and contrast cards:

Composed of a combination of black and white surfaces, with a sufficient area for reflection measurement, opacity cards are used to test the covering power of paints.
The black and white areas have the highest tolerances in the industry, ensuring repeatable opacity measurements. For varnished cards, the batch number is printed on each card.

Varnished Byko-charts:

■ Application cards with varnished finish are ideal for a wide range of paint systems: water-based or solvent-based technologies
■ Paper guaranteed non-fluorescent in compliance with the standard ASTM D 344
■ Repeatable color and gloss - batch after batch
■ Superior adhesion characteristics, especially with latex paints
■ Robust design (14 mil thickness) to prevent card deformation during paint application.
■ The application card box is packaged in low permeability plastic to prevent moisture absorption during shipping and storage.
■ Batch numbers are printed on all cards
