This versatile electric burner is a very good intermediary between the traditional burner, the LAB, and the LAB Microbio. It allows for most of the manipulations achievable with a Bunsen burner in the context of teaching chemistry and introducing microbiology. Thanks to its configuration, the device at full power generates an upward flow of hot air with a temperature reaching 920°C. A 2-minute preheating is necessary to fully benefit from the device's performance. The hot air flow allows for heating containers and generates a sterile zone usable in microbiology. Manipulations requiring high temperatures are also possible such as: - bending a glass tube, - causing the fusion of an aluminum wire. A range of accessories also allows for more specific manipulations such as studying the combustion of metal powders by flame or the reaction between iron powder and sulfur.
