Objectives:
- Measure the reaction time generated by a visual or auditory stimulus or both randomly.
- Show that the reaction time varies: depending on the individual, their condition (fatigue...), for the same individual depending on the stimulus.
- Note that the reaction time decreases for the same stimulus during repeated trials and highlight the concept of learning.
Procedure:
This very simple device consists of an electronic box delivering visual and/or auditory stimuli.
The triggering of the two stimuli can be random.
The triggering of the two stimuli is automatic for visual and auditory signals and is accompanied by the start of an integrated stopwatch.
By pressing a button, the student stops the stopwatch and the reaction time is displayed.
