Genetic test strip - PTC

100 strips soaked in PTC solution to assess students' sensitivity to the PTC molecule.

The gene that determines sensitivity or insensitivity to PTC (TAS2R38) codes for a buccal taste receptor. Individuals who possess the mutated version of the gene will be sensitive to PTC (bitterness sensation with the strip), while individuals with the non-mutated version will be insensitive to bitterness.
