Movement model kit + stopwatch

With this model, students build trajectories step by step. They acquire the skill: characterizing a movement; they reinvest the notion of speed value and the teacher introduces the concepts of direction and sense. Movements such as uniform and varied rectilinear motions, as well as circular movements, are fully addressed using this model. Functions and uses that ensure a perfectly adequate response to the new curriculum: - Uniform rectilinear motion: With the motion model, the student moves an object at a constant speed. They observe the displacement of a marked point and, for a constant Δt measured with a stopwatch, they mark the successive positions of the point. Then, they draw conclusions about the nature of the movement. They exploit the relationship between speed, distance, and time. The movement is reproducible, allowing for the sharing of results. - Varied rectilinear motion: The motion model has an adjustable acceleration and deceleration setting controlled by a potentiometer to achieve increasing or decreasing object speed. The acceleration or deceleration ramp is known and reproducible, results are quickly evaluated, and sharing is facilitated in the classroom. - Circular motion: With the provided "disk" accessory, the student studies uniform circular motions. By using the same procedure as before, the student notes the different positions of a point on the disk and draws conclusions about the nature of the movement.
