2D dynamic mechanics Experiment on table
Topics covered:
- Principle of inertia
- Rectilinear and circular uniform and accelerated movements
- Conservation of momentum (elastic and inelastic collisions)
- Parabolic trajectories
- Propulsion methods by reaction
Principles and objectives:
The principle of this dynamic mechanics lab is to study trajectories by introducing the concept of reference frame.
The air cushion mobile will facilitate understanding of the principle of inertia. Then, the student will implement
rectilinear and circular, uniform and uniformly accelerated movements to determine velocities and
respective accelerations, and will extend the study to collisions and conservation of momentum and
finally to parabolic trajectories using a calibrated launcher and the adjustable incline of the table.
Comments:
The inkjet mobile table is innovative as it uses inkjet cartridges to study the trajectory
of the mobiles on standard paper, it also ensures safety with the absence of high voltage and extremely low friction
with the integrated air cushion in the autonomous mobile. The mobiles also have
a 2-color LED for video tracking with a matte black table ensuring high contrast and very few reflections.
