Meca-Ball: Looping

This bench, based on the principle of the roller coaster, highlights the conservation of mechanical energy that will allow the ball to complete the loop without stopping. Of course, a minimum speed must be reached before attacking the loop. This experience is also an opportunity to introduce the notion of centrifugal force, which compensates for the force of gravity, preventing the body from falling and thus continuing its rotation. To go further, the student can determine the height of the ball that will be necessary to complete the loop using the conservation of mechanical energy (Em = Ec + Ep).
