Meissner effect kit
This kit allows for a demonstration of the fundamental property of superconductors and the Meissner Effect associated with it.
Meissner Effect (expulsion of a magnetic field from a superconductor during its transition to the superconducting state)
Levitation of a small rare-earth magnet above a high-temperature YBaCuO superconducting disk cooled by liquid nitrogen. (Note: The disk does not exhibit a strong levitation force. To demonstrate strong levitation/suspension experiments, please choose our demonstration kit 2. For other levitation experiments, superconducting train models, etc., please choose from our range of levitation disks).
1 YBCO-123 disk for the Meissner effect, diameter 22 mm, height 3 mm
1 small rare earth magnet, NdFeB, diameter 4 mm, height 1.5 mm, grade N42
1 pair of tweezers
1 insulated cup
1 instruction manual
