Moments of forces
This device allows highlighting the role of various parameters involved in the balance of a mobile body around its center of gravity. Several experiments can be conducted: - Highlighting the theorem of moments, - Forces from masses or dynamometers. Forces can be easily applied at many points on the mobile, - Study of balance, - Concept of torque. These applied forces can be: vertical (weight of the overloads), of any directions, or adjustable by pivoting an independent metal arm. The device consists of a rectangular tiltable platform with two parallel graduations on its sides. The zero line constantly passes through the axis of rotation. This scale allows direct and precise reading of the 'axis-force' distance by aligning the graduation parallel to the forces. To be completed with a laboratory stand and a clamping nut.
- 1 rectangular plate and a perforated mobile - 4 pulleys on bearings ø 50 mm (shaft ø 6 mm) - 12 overload masses of 20 g each - 4 overload trays - 4 dynamometers of 1 N and 4 adapted square section clips - 1 set of wires and studs to be placed on the mobile
