Leclanché battery with depolarizer

This battery, also known as a dry cell or dry battery, produces electricity by using the principle of redox reaction between zinc and manganese dioxide in an electrolyte made up of zinc chloride and ammonium chloride.

The battery is composed of a glass container, a cylindrical zinc electrode, a linked electrode made of graphite and manganese dioxide contained in a porous container, a carbon electrode, 200 g of manganese dioxide, and 160 g of ammonium chloride.
