Topics covered:

- Amplitude modulation

- Demodulation by peak detector

- AD633 multiplier

- Transmission of information

Principles and objectives:

The objective of this lab is to perform amplitude modulation and demodulation of an informative signal. To experimentally achieve amplitude modulation of a carrier by a modulating signal, a multiplier is used. An AD633 multiplier integrated in this package allows the multiplication of 2 signals and thus the amplitude modulation of an input signal. A carrier at 150 kHz is generated by the Modulator, which avoids the need for an additional function generator. However, it is possible to use the safety sockets provided to connect a function generator used as a carrier.

Connect ouExperimentut S1 to direct input 1 of the Foxy® console. Connect the ouExperimentut of the Multiplier-Modulator to direct input 2.

By adjusting the parameters of the peak detector and the filter at the modulator level, it is possible to determine the appropriate parameters to reconstruct the original informative signal.
