Topics covered:

- Maxwell's equations

- Electric constant

- Capacitance of a plate capacitor

- Real charges / Free charges

- Dielectric displacement

- Polarization and Dielectric constant

Principles and objectives:
The electric constant is determined by measuring the charge of a plate capacitor to which a voltage is applied. The dielectric constant is determined in the same way, with plastic or glass filling the space between the plates. The proposed experiments are:
- Measurement of the relationship between charge Q and voltage U using a plate capacitor.
- Determination of the electric constant from the previously measured relationship.
- Measurement of the charge of a plate capacitor as a function of the inverse of the distance between the plates, under a constant voltage.
- Determination of the dielectric constants of different materials by comparison with measurements made with air between the plates of the capacitor.

Comments:
Provides a high, non-dangerous voltage. Easy experimental setup thanks to a clear and compact design. Smart investment: The included universal measuring amplifier can also be used for other applications.
