Liquid crystal conductoscope

The student dips the end of the metal bars into a beaker filled with hot water, and reads the temperature of each bar on the liquid crystal thermometers. This demonstrates that materials have the ability to conduct heat, and allows for a classification of materials based on their thermal conductivity.
