The DEWAR calorimeter is made up of a double-walled glass vessel with a vacuum between the walls, covered by an outer plastic casing, an inner plastic protective vessel, and a closing lid. This Dewar flask calorimeter is ideal for determining a change in energy state, the specific heat of a material, or the latent heat of ice fusion. The Dewar calorimeter lid is composed of the following elements: - 1 guided plastic stirrer, rectangular in shape, non-losable, - 1 11 mm opening for a thermometer or probe, - 1 6 mm guide for an expansion thermometer or thermal probe, - 1 central circular opening that can be closed with a lid for introducing resistors, - 2 resistors 2 and 4 connected in series on sheathed aluminum rods, connected to an insulating lid with 4mm safety sockets. To take temperature measurements, the calorimeter can be used with: a long enough glass expansion thermometer*, a temperature probe with a diameter less than 7 mm, such as the Initio® 2 thermometer ref. 251180 or the Foxy thermometer sensor ref. 482101 (a probe holder clip is provided for these 2 devices). The 3 resistor values with secure socket connectors allow for numerous experimental conditions, and the thermometer opening is compatible with Ex.A.O. thermometer sensors or partially immersed liquid thermometers.
