This Mariotte's Law model is ideal for conducting the P=f(V) experiment, allowing for easy and relatively precise measurement of pressure as a function of volume. The screw piston syringe is mounted on a base to ensure stability of the whole system even when the syringe is compressed. This device allows for precise and effortless variation and maintenance of pressure. A retractable safety feature limits the piston stroke, and therefore the pressure, to protect the gauge or pressure meter that will be connected to the device. The 3-way valve has 2 functions: - adjusting the volume of air to be introduced into the syringe - cutting off communication with the outside by including the gauge in the pressure circuit
