This kit, whose composition has been validated with the help of Math-Science teachers in Vocational Education, is dedicated to the Chemistry theme of the math-science programs in Vocational High School, and allows to address the following program lines.
Second Grade:
- Experimentally identify chemical species in aqueous solution
First and Final Year:
- Experimentally determine the density of a liquid or a solid.
- Demonstrate the thermal expansion of a liquid experimentally.
- Demonstrate the thermal expansion of a solid object experimentally.
- Determine the monatomic ion favorably formed based on the element's position in the periodic table.
- Predict, based on a qualitative electrochemical classification, the direction of spontaneous evolution of a redox reaction.
- Experimentally perform and interpret a redox reaction related to the corrosion of a metal.
- Illustrate the passivation of a metal through an experiment.
- Experimentally demonstrate the protection of a metal using sacrificial anode method.
- Experimentally determine a concentration using a non-destructive method of calibration-based dosage (color scales, spectrophotometry, colorimeter with a microcontroller, density).
- Implement a solvent extraction technique following a provided protocol.
- Experimentally carry out an esterification.
- Perform and interpret thin-layer chromatography or column chromatography experimentally.
- Qualitatively describe the action of a soap and a detergent on dirt.
