This system of two pendulums oscillating and elastically coupled by a torsion wire can be completely separated and used separately as two independent and complete simple pendulums. The apparatus comes with a set of masses to modify the inertia, a magnetized module for the study of fluid damping by Foucault currents, and a friction pad for the study of solid damping. The two pendulums are equipped with precision angular sensors on ball bearings. Data can then be easily collected using an oscilloscope or an A.D.C. interface. You can perform the following lab work: - Study of the simple pendulum, determination of the moment of inertia - Study of damping by fluid and solid friction - Torsion pendulum by wire connection - Coupled pendulums, sympathetic pendulums
