IPL - Headset with Laser Safety Software

The Immersive Photonics Lab (IPL) is a Virtual Reality application dedicated to training in photonics, which faithfully reproduces physical phenomena and effectively develops procedural skills. It emulates the optical and laser equipment necessary to train students anywhere, anytime, and without the risk of injury.

The goal of this lab session is to learn how to safely transport an infrared laser beam without laser leakage using a beam blocker and an infrared card.
▪ Level 1: Know how to practice the right gestures to safely transport a visible laser beam using two beam blockers and pre-set mirrors.
▪ Level 2: Know how to practice the right gestures to safely transport a visible laser beam using two beam blockers and mirrors with all adjustment axes released.
▪ Level 3: Know how to practice the right gestures to safely transport an invisible laser beam using an infrared card, a beam blocker, and mirrors with all adjustment axes released.
