IPL - Laser Security Software

The Immersive Photonics Lab (IPL) is a Virtual Reality application dedicated to photonics training, faithfully reproducing physical phenomena and effectively developing procedural skills. It simulates the optical and laser equipment necessary to train students, anytime, anywhere, and without the risk of injuries.

The goal of this practical work is to learn how to safely transport an infrared laser beam without any laser leakage using a beam blocker and an infrared card.

 ▪ Level 1: Knowing how to apply the right techniques to safely transport a visible laser beam using two beam blockers and pre-set mirrors.
 ▪ Level 2: Knowing how to apply the right techniques to safely transport a visible laser beam using two beam blockers and mirrors with all adjustment axes released.
 ▪ Level 3: Knowing how to apply the right techniques to safely transport an invisible laser beam using an infrared card, a beam blocker, and mirrors with all adjustment axes released.
