Subjects discussed :
- Adjusting an infinity scope
- Setting a collimator to infinity
- Carrying out the pointing of the focal planes of an optical system to be studied
- Use and application of the Cornu method
- Creation of a fixed front viewfinder

Principles and objectives:
Cornu's method is suitable for both convergent and divergent systems. This is a technique aimed at determining the cardinal elements of a thick system.
To do this, we mark the center of the entry and exit faces of the optical system to be studied. We then look for the 3 positions of the viewfinder for which the image of the collimator, the mark on the exit face and the image of the entry mark are clear. We note these 3 positions again after turning the system over.
