Tell me a story 45005 LEGO
Tell me a story about LEGO® EDUCATION (Ref.45005) is designed to encourage children to develop their language and vocabulary.
Educational aspects:
- Cognitive development: remembering past events
- Linguistic development: Vocabulary development related to stories
- Creativity development: working on imagination and improving the ability to tell stories
5 ways to use it:
1- Create a model using the context cards and tell your own story. You can start by choosing the atmosphere of your story.
For example, is it a funny story? Sad? Scary? Then choose an appropriate context card and add characters and events.
Ask the children to do the same, if necessary by offering them a starting point for the story.
2- Ask the children to build a setting illustrating what they did over the weekend or the past holidays. Then ask them to describe the scene to a friend.
3- Place some special elements (like a crocodile, a horse, a girl, and a boy) and ask the children to pick between one and three elements with their eyes closed. Then ask them to tell a story using these elements as characters.
4- Ask the children to choose the context of a story that takes place in the summer. The goal is to build a setting illustrating their favorite activities during the summer.
The same can be done for winter, then discuss the similarities and differences between the two seasons.
5- Some children may tend to build the same story multiple times. Ask them to extend it by adding details. To help them, you can ask questions such as 'What time of day is it happening?' ,'What are the characters' names?' and 'How do the characters feel?'
