Topics covered:
- Functioning of a micropipette
- Preparation of a calibration range and measurement of a colored solution
- Principle of fluorescence
- Principle of an enzymatic reaction and study of the different parameters that influence it

Micropipette Learning Lab:
This kit allows students to familiarize themselves with the use of micropipettes and perform the necessary calculations to prepare a calibration range and measure a colored solution. They will also learn about the principle of fluorescence as they will directly visualize their results using the fluorescence vision adapter of the phorEasy. The experiment lasts 50 minutes. Reagents are provided for 24 pairs.
Composition: Fluorescent colored solution, diluent, tubes

Enzymology Initiation Lab by Fluorescence:
This kit allows students to explore the parameters of an enzymatic reaction (reaction rate, influence of enzyme and substrate concentration, temperature, and pH) through the activity of Beta-Galactosidase, which can react with a lactose analogue and produce a visible fluorescent compound. The experiment lasts 50 minutes. Reagents are provided for 24 pairs.
Composition: Lactose analogue substrate solution, Beta-Galactosidase solution, diluent, acid and base solutions, tubes

Comments:
These kits are designed to introduce first or second-year students to the use of micropipettes in molecular biology. Fluorescence is an added benefit that allows for quickly identifying pipetting errors. Additional equipment required: P1000, P100, P20 micropipettes and tips, phorEasy molecular viewer ref. 708150 and its tube holder ref. 708249, tube rack ref. 527055 or 527030, water bath ref. 591074
