SP2 medium in 190 mL agar flask - Rooting
Objective:
Implement a protocol to obtain the development of a whole plant from the sampling of a Saintpaulia leaf fragment. It is necessary to work with 2 successive media, the multiplication medium (SP1) and then the rooting medium (SP2).
The pre-sterilized and ready-poured SP2 medium in a flask helps reduce the risks of contamination during material handling.
Why choose Saintpaulia?
This indoor plant, available in gardening stores, is easy to maintain. It allows easy obtainment of disinfected fragments, unlike the potato which requires prior production of sprouts. It is also simpler to cultivate in vitro than carrot tissues. It is not necessary to obtain a sterile callus beforehand.
