Cyanobacteria in suspension 50 mL

Filamentous photosynthetic bacteria.
Cyanobacteria in a 50 mL transparent glass bottle.
It is recommended to culture the cyanobacteria in a suitable medium (BG11) 1 to 2 weeks before the practical work.

Procedure for maintaining the strains:
*Work under the most sterile conditions possible
- In a sterile 500 mL flask, pour the 10X BG11 medium bottle (117113) and complete with sterile distilled water up to 500 mL
- In another sterile flask (250/500 mL), pour the entire bottle of suspended microorganisms and close with a cotton ball wrapped in gauze (poultice)
- Add between 20 and 50 mL of medium every 2 weeks and shake the culture flask very regularly (ideally daily). Expose to light for 12/14 hours per day at a temperature above 18-20°C
