Polymer synthesis

This kit allows studying 4 examples: super absorbent, polyvinyl alcohol, expandable polystyrene, and thermoformable plastic beads. Polymers have very different properties from each other. It is not always easy to relate an action of a polymer to a product encountered in everyday life. These scenarios allow seeing the characteristics: expandable, absorbent, thermoformable. The manipulations provided in the downloadable sheets highlight polymerizations by addition and condensation. All manipulations require little material but some may require standard protective equipment. From these activities, you can make connections with a multitude of industrial examples.
