The Vocational High School Science Workshop offers a choice between:
- a simple and intuitive generalist module
- dedicated modules for the implementation of specific practical work
GENERALIST MODULE
Equipped with two configurations (free or guided), it allows you to meet all your needs by adapting your teaching methods.
In the guided configuration, connecting a sensor to the console automatically triggers the display of a menu that offers the student to choose the typical manipulations involving this sensor. The student is then guided by the software in carrying out the manipulation.
In the free configuration, you have access to all settings and you can:
- acquire data
- acquire and process videos
- process data with the integrated spreadsheet, mathematical tools, graphic tools
- model
- write a report
DEDICATED MODULES
Titration Module
Ideal for carrying out the titration of an acid or base in solution through pH monitoring, performing the titration of a common product through conductimetry, and saving time by guiding and automating various types of titrations.
The titration module allows for a quick and optimal study of pH, conductometric, and potentiometric titrations.
Help files integrated into the module provide guidance on the use of equipment as well as adjustment procedures.
A very user-friendly acquisition workshop automatically recognizes the equipment used and allows for setup and acquisition in a few clicks.
This module allows for setting the experimental conditions of the reaction: concentration of the products used, volumes added. It guides the student in the experimental approach by indicating the protocol to follow:
- With the automatic burette Titronic, the software controls the volume of titrant and manages successive additions based on pH variations. This ensures high-quality curves obtained quickly.
- The titrant can also be added with a conventional burette drop by drop; a chrono sensor triggers the pH measurement with each drop and allows for determining the volume added
- You can optimize your volume measurements by using the Ergolab® burette, specially designed for this type of manipulation. At an attractive cost, it offers high measurement precision and keeps the student engaged during the manipulation.
After acquisition, finding the equivalence point can be easily done using processing tools: calculation and plotting of the derivative curve and tangent method.
CCD Spectro Module
Ideal for studying the Beer-Lambert law, monitoring a chemical transformation, and determining the dominance domains of acidic and basic forms of a colored indicator.
With the CCD spectrophotometer, no console is needed. It connects directly to the computer via the RS232 serial port. Reliable and easy to use, its CCD sensor allows for quick acquisitions.
The CCD Spectro module (provided with the spectrophotometer) allows for:
- spectra in absorbance and transmission from 440 to 800 nm
- absorbance measurements at fixed wavelength (possibility of simultaneous acquisition at 2 wavelengths):
- Beer-Lambert law A = f(c)
- study of colored indicators A = f(pH)
- kinetic study A = f(t).
The user is guided according to the type of acquisition they want to perform for independent work. They have powerful tools for further data processing: spreadsheet-grapher, modeling, calculations, parametric curves, practical work reports...
Chronomeca Module
Ideal for studying vertical free fall, the movement of a solid on an inclined plane, and verifying that, in all cases, ag = g regardless of mass.
The Chronomeca module is dedicated to the study of free fall and inclined plane on an air cushion bench, with chronociné adapters and sensors.
The necessary equipment is automatically recognized and an assistant guides the user in acquisition setup and sensor positioning.
With manual triggering of free fall practical work, the integrated photocoupler allows for measurement triggering at the precise moment of the ball's release. This allows for studying the ball's fall without initial velocity. In the study of the inclined plane, the chronometer is triggered by the mobile passing the chrono sensor level.
With each acquisition, the chronomeca module represents the distance traveled over time x=f(t) and the speed over time v=f(t).
The experiment can be easily repeated several times to vary sensor positions and increase the number of data points.
Numerous processing tools are available: scientific spreadsheet-grapher for calculations and curve representation, function modeling to establish trajectory equations, derivative for velocity calculations...
GUIDED MODULES
A true interactive protocol, the guided mode aims to allow the student to progress at their own pace, independently. It simplifies settings for the student and operationalizes the practical work. In guided mode, the software automatically recognizes the sensors connected to the Primo® console and triggers a menu that offers the student to choose typical manipulations of the program involving the sensor(s). After acquisition, tools for data processing and analysis related to the experiment results remain accessible.
