Some eukaryotic cells undergo fermentation. The fermentative use of a glucose molecule produces much less ATP than during respiration.

Experiment Objective:
The aim is to study cellular metabolism during fermentation, so it is necessary to provide a substrate (glucose) and place the system in anaerobic conditions.
