The reference software to control all our machines from the ISEL range (ICP, CPM...) and SIGEA.
You can import most CAD files (ISO, DXF, WMF, GRB...) allowing you to work with different CAD software and machine with GALAAD.
This version of GALAAD3 has a module for performing English engraving.
Caractéristiques techniques
From idea to object in 3 steps
Step 1: Drawing the part using CAD (Computer-Aided Design)
Creating a new file
Depending on the type of material used, Galaad offers default settings such as tool speed.
Simple menus, minimal icons.
Creation: point, line, polyline, rectangle, circle, text.
During the part drawing, it is possible to change the machining order, tool selection, tool path definition (external/internal contouring), and depth at any time.
This specialized drawing module takes into account that the drawn part needs to be machined, allowing the user to impose manufacturing constraints early on. The link with the machining part is immediate, without the need to handle heavy intermediate files.
Step 2: Trajectory management
The tool path definition is handled by the CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) module, which generates a trajectory file for the tools to follow.
At this stage, Galaad offers several options that can be intervened at any time:
- perform a test run,
- repeat the same machining,
- shut down the system after the tool cycle,
- divide the part,
- resume interrupted machining (e.g., after a tool break). Galaad also allows for easy visualization of machining limits exceedance based on chosen options.
Step 3: Simulation and Machining of the part
Finally, the CNC machine control system carries out the part machining following the generated tool paths.
From the drawing module, a simple mouse click is enough to start the manufacturing process on a machine directly controlled by Galaad.
Important:
Galaad remains an open software.
There is no rigid framework imposed by Galaad at all stages of the process.
It is entirely possible to substitute an external software at a key point in the process.
Thus, the downstream processing part after drawing can very well use CAD or CAM files from software other than Galaad.
Similarly, the drawing module is capable of directly calling an external driver to communicate with the machine, without the need for file manipulations.
Also included with Galaad
PCB Engraving:
Percival is an English engraving module capable of opening classic Gerber files, Gerber RS274-X, and Excellon. This software calculates track and pad outlines based on the tooling used, as well as hole diameters to minimize tool changes. It then directly calls the machining module to carry out drilling and circuit engraving.
ISO Editing:
A small annex to the set of modules, Owein is a text editor for ISO/NCP files that allows real-time visualization of corresponding paths on multiple views, highlighting the current line and immediately reflecting modifications. It can serve as an NCI/NCP/ISO format converter.
Required Configuration:
Galaad 3 was developed specifically for Windows 32-bit systems.
It is compatible with Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP/Vista.
8 MB of RAM, 30 MB of available disk space.
